How much does office design cost?
You should expect to pay from approximately £70 per sq. ft up to £130 per sq. ft which would include the strip-out, construction and furniture. This is a basic cost and there could be many other factors that effect the cost of your project. Take a look at our fit-out guide for more information.
How much does an office design cost?
If you would like a full office design created, including CAD drawings, mood boards and 3D walk throughs you could expect to pay up to £2000 depending on the size of the project. This cost can be included in a fit-out or refurbishment package.
How much office space do I need?
The rule of thumb is 100 sq. ft per person, 50 sq. ft for the desk and 50 sq. ft for communal areas. In places where rents are higher such as London this can decrease to 70/80 sq. ft per person, space is then saved with storage solutions.
How many toilets should I have in my office?
Ideally 25-50 staff should have 3 toilets and 3 washbasins between them. And 76-100 employees should have 5 toilets and 5 washbasins. For men only, there should be 1 toilet and 1 urinal for 1-15 employees. This rises to 2 toilets and 1 urinal for 16-30 staff, and 4 toilets and 4 urinals for 91-100 staff.
How many lights should I have in my office?
Foot candles are the most common unit of measure used by lighting professionals. A foot candle is a measurement of light intensity defined as the illuminance on a one-square foot surface from a source of light. Hallways and corridors require a minimum of 5 candle-feet of light. The standard of 30 foot-candles is the minimum lighting requirement for an office space.

What are the benefits of having office partitions?
Office partitions are a very cost effective way of dividing your office space. They can also be easily dismantled if you wish to change your layout. There are many different partition designs to choose from. They can add to the aesthetics of your office, allowing you to create your own style. Glass partitions allow the light to flow through the office whilst solid partitions can block unwanted light and of course give full privacy.
How does office design affect productivity?
If you have a comfortable, appealing office space, not only will you reduce sick days, you will attract quality staff. A well-lit and well-ventilated work space are found to decrease the number of absences and increase satisfaction by 24%. In turn, productivity goes up by 16%. Being comfortable while working decreases absences and boosts satisfaction, which, in turn, increases productivity.
