Our city has been rated as one of the top 25 business cities in Europe and the 3rd best place in the UK of any size for foreign direct investment in the future by the Financial Times. It was also named as the second most business friendly small city based on a number of factors such as ease of doing business, foreign direct investment and jobs created by investment.
Reading was also ranked only 2nd behind London for the highest wages, 18% above the national average. It is also 3rd in the UK for productivity with 50% of workers being educated to degree level.
These results mean that international businesses are looking for available offices due to the high availability of highly skilled workers even if that means they have to pay more for commercial space.
